Increase Your Swim "Pull" - You Need This

If you are looking for pull buoys, you are already a swimmer and you know what these are. I am a fairly seasoned swimmer (can complete the first leg of a 70.3 tri), but I just felt like I wasn't getting enough "pull" from my strokes and was over-reliant on my legs. I have added paddles to my training, but still not sure. A swim buoy is pretty cheap data. These are mostly made from EVA foam, and this one is no different (EVA foam). This is a symmetric pull buoy, but this is personal preference and swimmers that change strokes prefer symmetrical (not a factor). The three (3) things I was most interested in were size, buoyancy (heavier people need more buoyancy, stronger swimmer want less buoyancy), and comfort (I didn't want this chafing my thighs).I am 165-lbs, and I wouldn't want any more buoyancy than this. I am also strong swimmer. If you weigh more, or you are more beginner swimmer, you may desire a larger buoy. For my size and skill, this is just about right. And I pulled a 100-m sprint freestyle; I know how many strokes this would normally take me. I have progress I can make on my upper-body engagement in my swimming.

Good Tool For Swimming Drills - Not Buoyant Enough for a Big Person

It is a good product. I was able to use it with Swim paddles to isolate my upper body and focus on my stroke which is the point of a pull buoy. Was comfortable and stayed in place.I am 6 feet tall and 220 pounds and it wasn't enough to keep my legs from sinking.I think it would rate 5 stars for someone smaller, but it wasn't quite enough to work for me.

Handy float for exercise - could be bigger

This float has been handy for use in my pool when swimming laps. It gives me an opportunity to focus on my upper body, keeping my legs afloat as I take them out of that particular workout. I wish the float was slightly larger so that it offered a bit more buoyancy and was easier to grip with legs - and possibly allowing me to change it up and use it as smaller kickboard to allow isolation of the body when desired. Overall it is exactly what it says - a nice addition to lap swimming at home.

Compact size works well

I was a little skeptical when I received this because it ‘s smaller than the one I’ve been using but it works really well. Also, it does take up much space in my already crowded swim bag. The texture is very smooth and comfortable to use. Great for focusing on arm drills or building upper body strength.

Slippery

It won't stay in place when swimming with my jammer. Much more slippery than others. Always falls out.
